Quatre looks like he’s about to explode if he doesn’t get a chance to hug Trowa this instant and Trowa is all like. Quatre.. now is not the time for that.

i feel like there’s a qualitative difference between something like conan, which feels ok just going on and on, and naruto/bleach/one piece which have at least the sense of a “plot”— the sense they *should* end

yeah, that’s what i was trying to say. i wouldn’t want to compare a manga that has an actual pieced together plot with an ending in sight with something that’s basically a newspaper comic that’s intended to be light entertainment that goes on forever. or something.

Naruto and Bleach are not even that long if you compare it to Detective Conan. The manga and anime is still on going, in fact it is the longest anime series.

yeah comparatively they really aren’t.

though i guess how they tell their plot and how important “the end” is to the story (like the characters of naruto have a clear end goal that they’re working towards right) is something to keep in mind but i don’t know enough about these big mangas to really say they go one way or the other.

tinyantennas replied to your post “zombietango replied to your post “so since naruto, bleach, and one…”

the longest ones i can think of that have actually ended are only 30-some volumes, which is relatively short… compared to the ongoing ones that is

yeah, the jump between them is really big….. maybe they’ll NEVER end.

also i looked at the wiki list for long manga and…… i can’t believe part of me wants to get into jjba, that manga is the 8th longest manga, longer than ANY of the big shounen. 111 volumes. jeez…………

zombietango replied to your post “so since naruto, bleach, and one piece will never end has there ever…”

i dont know about shonen but have ya heard of Golgo 13? thats been going since the early 1960’s

i’m a little surprised, but thinking about it more, it’s not as surprising. i’m assuming that golgo 13’s story is a “story of the week” or month or w/e sort of thing like maybe a newspaper comic would do. no one EXPECTS those to end, they’re just supposed to always be there. something like naruto, bleach, and one piece are supposed to end.

dbz? does that count?

hmmm maybe. oh and i guess violence jack counts too… ~_~

dragon ball is surprisingly not THAT long when you take into account just the manga. i think only the anime dragged it out forrrrrreeeeeeeveeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr.
